How to brew the perfect cup of tea.
There are as many brewing techniques as there are tea varieties. But don't worry. All you really need is some quality tea (preferably loose leaf), hot water and a container that holds liquids. If you are on a budget, quality tea is a far better investment than brewing accessories.
Tea made by boiling a tin cup full of river water on a camp fire will taste just as good (if not better) than one made with professional equipment.
Tea by the River
1. Scoop up some fresh water from a preferably clean nearby river; taste it to make sure it doesn't taste weird. If the water doesn't taste right, neither will your tea
2. Make a fire using dry branches; matches would help during this step
3. Put your tin cup with water from the river on the fire and wait for the water to boil
4. Once boiled; remove the hot cup by using 2 sticks or wrap your hands with some cloth so that you don't burn yourself touching hot metal
5. Put roughly 5g or a big pinch of loose leaf tea into the cup of boiling water and wait for the flavour
6. You can either remove the leaves from the cup or let them steep longer. (Organic teas usually don't get so astringent when over-steeped)
7. Wait for the tea to cool to a drinkable temperature and Enjoy!
Tip: Since you haven't removed the tea leaves from your tin cup; you will probably get some in your mouth during the drinking process. But, since you are in a forest, you can just spit them out and enjoy the feeling!
